EASA Part M for General Aviation (IR Part-M, Subpart F)
All JAA training courses in the field of continued airworthiness take into account the EU Regulations and the Acceptable means of Compliance (AMC) and Guidance Material (GM) published by EASA. Our trainers are experienced, well-respected experts in their field.
The new EASA Part M Subpart F regulation relating to the maintenance of non-commercial and non-large aircraft is shortly to be fully implemented with significant implications for those involved in this industry sector. Associated with Subpart F will be the Subpart G and I elements that this same industry sector will need to be aware of and plan for in terms of complying or making the necessary arrangements to out source.
All non-commercial and non-large aircraft will, after September 2008, need to comply with changes to the regulations that alter the way Certificates of Airworthiness/Airworthiness Review Certificates are issued and remain valid. By including Subparts G and I we can offer a more rounded picture of what will be required of organisations and individuals involved with these aircraft.
This course will enable participants to understand the relevance and inter-relationship of these three regulatory areas and apply a practical approach to help attendees implement the new requirements in the workplace. We will be including two mini-workshops, enabling them to appreciate how a Maintenance Organisation Manual is compiled as well as understanding the principles of the new ‘Organisational Review’ required of Subpart F companies.
The course content has been specially designed to include numerous examples which will give participants a practical perspective of how to apply the knowledge they gain.
Attendees receive handouts of all presentations and two books developed by JAA. The first book covers the Basic Regulation 1592/2002 and the Implementing Rule 2042/2003. The second book covers the requirements of Part-M and the corresponding AMC material. The course material is a very convenient collection of relevant regulatory information for day-to-day use and reference.
The books are used throughout the training, which eliminates the need to present the full texts from the regulation on the presentation slides. These only summarise the main points of the requirements and are based on the trainer’s knowledge of the requirements and experience in practice. Questions from the attendants and mutual discussions are encouraged, which makes the training more interactive and lively, increasing understanding and learning.
The course will address the following subjects:
- Introduction to high-level applicable regulations, including the role of EASA and Continued Airworthiness in a regulatory environment
- Airworthiness and Continuing Airworthiness concepts
- EASA Part M overview, particularly Subparts B, C, D, E and H
- Detailed review of Subparts F, G and I
- Practical examples of PART M implementation and how to avoid potential problems and how to put in place a Subpart F compliant organisational structure
- Mini-workshops on how to compile an MOM and develop an ‘Organisational Review’
- Interface between subpart F and all other subparts as well as Part 21
- Related management of EASA approved changes (Modifications and Repairs)
- Nominated Form 4 Holder responsibilities
