Theoretical Knowledge Examination and the Use of CQBs
Tbd
Introduction
The Theoretical Knowledge examinations are a vital part of pilot licensing procedures by National Aviation Authorities (NAA).Until such time as EASA revise the current system which is not expected until some time after the implementation of the future implementing rules, the current system will remain in place. The professional pilot and instrument rating examinations are extracted from a Central Question Bank (CQB) which is now centrally managed and updated by EASA and administered for the purpose of examinations by each NAA.
This course provides comprehensive training in regard to the JAR-FCL pilot examination requirements and procedures outlined in JAR-FCL and JAA Admin and Guidance Material. Due to the last amendment 7 to JAR-FCL 1 and amendment 6 to JAR-FCL 2 as a consequence of NPA 25 and the major revisions which took place to the Learning Objectives for all of the examinations, it is essential that staff handling the CQB are appropriately aware and trained in its use.
The following subjects will be addressed:
• The development of the CQB
• CQB structure
• CQB Annexes
• Common abbreviations used for the CQB
• CQB releases - content, format, transmission means
• JAR-FCL theoretical knowledge examinations and the use of the CQB- rules and procedures:
• Overview of JAR-FCL requirements
• Theoretical knowledge syllabus
• Learning Objectives and the correct ones to use depending on the amendment status of JAR-FCL in your country
• Distribution of questions in examination papers
• Bridge examinations
• Validation, Feedback and Amendment Procedures
• Provision of results statistics from NAAs
• CQB software and the use of the General Feedback Modules by NAAs
• Disassociation lists
• Briefing on examination systems used by different NAAs
• Future developments of the CQB
• Open forum
NB: Please note that the content of the CQB is confidential, therefore, the training course does not give access to it.
